Character IP, companies, and fans.
By bringing together the ideas and strengths each holds, new worlds and experiences are emerging.
However,
who plays what role
which relationships generate value
the forms of these connections have yet to be clearly articulated.
In this project, we make the mechanisms through which value emerges visible, and distill them into knowledge that can be applied across different contexts.

Collaborations sparked by character IP are expanding across a wide range of domains—from products and events to spatial design and digital experiences.
Yet behind these developments,
who brings which strengths to the table
how the world of the IP is interpreted and translated into form
what kinds of relationships give rise to compelling experiences
the processes through which value is created largely remain unseen.
For this reason,
we seek to make visible the mechanisms through which value emerges in IP collaborations, organize them into a coherent framework,
and distill them into knowledge that can inform planning and design.
