We connect education and learning sciences, aiming to nurture innovative, engaging, and effective teaching practice.
Welcome!
Welcome to Signal Education Research Network!
Signal began with a simple but persistent question: How can we more effectively connect what we know about learning with educational practice?
Across the learning sciences, there is a growing body of research clarifying how students acquire deep and durable knowledge. This knowledge is not limited to simple facts -- it also includes complex bodies of knowledge. Educators and leaders engage in complex work that requires professional judgment, adaptation, and being creatively responsive to local contexts. Too often, conversations about learning and education happen in parallel rather than together. Signal was created to help bridge that space.
As a researcher and educator, I have been fortunate to collaborate with teachers, school divisions, policymakers, and fellow scholars who are committed to thoughtful, evidence-informed innovation. Signal is designed to be a place for dialogue, research exchange, and public scholarship that bridges scientific evidence, professional expertise, and a humanistic approach to education that aims to support every learner to meet and exceed their potential.
This Network is intentionally open and evolving as a community organized around shared curiosity. Whether you are a classroom teacher, pre-service teacher, graduate student, researcher, educational leader, or policymaker, I hope you will find ideas here that challenge, inform, and inspire your work.
Thank you for being part of this conversation.
