Optoelectronic Devices
We are using synthetic organic chemistry to construct non-alternant polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Through carefully designed molecules and an interplay of aromaticity & antiaromaticity, we aim to develop efficient and stable organic thin-film transistors (OTFs).
Through strategically placing boron atoms within the polycyclic frameworks, we want to introduce sensing capabilities within those compounds. Upon binding of a substrate, these structures efficiently change various properties, including color, luminescence & redox properties.
We also aim to develop various complex (chiral) luminescent and redox-active molecular architectures for applications as CPL or electrochromic materials.
