Principal Investigator
Eric Sidler was born in Switzerland and studied biology (BSc) and biological chemistry (MSc) at the ETH Zurich. After his MSc Thesis in the group of Prof. Dr. François Diederich, he moved to Basel to pursue his PhD studies in the group of Prof. Dr. Marcel Mayor in the field of conjugated molecular nanorings. He was then awarded an SNF Postdoc.Mobility fellowship to become a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Dr. Ben Feringa in Groningen (NL). He is currently postdoctoral research fellow in the group of Prof. Dr. Michal Juríček, funded by an SNF Return Grant.
In 2025, Eric obtained an SNF Ambizione grant to start his independent research at the University of Bern in September 2026.
