Siddharth George

Welcome to my website!

I'm an Assistant Professor of Economics at the National University of Singapore.   My research interests are in development economics, political economy and labour economics.   Prior to joining NUS, I was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Boston University and Dartmouth College.

Recent projects study:

• the economic impacts of political dynasties;

• how politicians and technocrats govern;

• why voters elect criminal politicians;

• peer effects in discrimination

I grew up in Singapore, India and Australia, completed my undergraduate studies at the LSE and my PhD at Harvard.  I have also worked as an economist for India's Chief Economic Advisor, as a research economist for the Singapore government, and co-founded SeeHow, a sports tech startup.
