It is important for everyone including the youth and old people to be media literate. We are approaching a 21st century technology is required frequently. Therefore, it is crucial for everyone should have the basic knowledge and skills to utilise media. Being media literate assist you to be aware of what is happening in the country. You can even be able to communicate with people from other countries and also solve problems without having to interact with each other (Livington, 2004).

Measures that can be done to help media illiterate people.

There are people who have no knowledge regarding media especially old people. That can be solved by education, creating organisations that can train them   on how to use media. Provide them with skills to utilise media. Encourage then to be passionate about media. Telling them about the importance and benefit of being media literate (Livington, 2004).
