The SIAM Student Chapter of the University of Pavia-IMATI organizes the following seminars and activities.
The METaL seminar cycle is a new initiative organized by the SIAM Chapter of the University of Pavia – IMATI. The series aims to promote dialogue and collaboration between Mathematics and Engineering, exploring interdisciplinary topics that bridge theory and application.
Each seminar features contributions from both established researchers and emerging scholars, fostering an environment of knowledge exchange and innovation at the intersection of these two fields.

The METaL seminars take place once a month and are hosted alternately in one of the following venues:

DICAr Seminar Room
IMATI Conference Room
Each session features a speaker selected alternately from the fields of Mathematics and Engineering, ensuring a balanced and interdisciplinary exchange of ideas.

PAV-IA goes beyond hosting informal talks on specific AI topics. We explore the breadth and depth of AI applications and implementations, encouraging cross-disciplinary collaboration and constructive discussions. We welcome both established researchers to share their expertise, as well as emerging researchers embarking on their AI journeys.
Practical Info:
Presentations: Participants will present their research topic or an article related to Artificial Intelligence, using their preferred presentation method (e.g., Backboard, slides, etc.).
Schedule: Bi-weekly on Tuesday, from 13:00 to 14:00. Talks can range from 20 to 45 minutes.

Description: The PhD students of the Department of Mathematics invite you to Meet & Math: know us, ask us, an informal event designed to bring students and PhD candidates closer together and showcase ongoing research projects. It will also be a great chance to chat, ask questions, and discuss doubts about the Master’s degree or future career opportunities. We look forward to seeing you there!
