Delete Account Request

At ShuddhScan, we respect your privacy and believe you should have complete control over your personal data. In compliance with Google Play’s Data Deletion Policy, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other global privacy frameworks, we provide seamless, transparent, and irreversible options to permanently delete your account and all associated personal data.

This document outlines the available deletion methods, the technical process involved, and exactly what data is permanently wiped.

What Data is Deleted Upon Account Deletion?

When you request account deletion through any of the methods below, ShuddhScan permanently and securely purges the following information:

1. Identity & Authentication Data: Your Firebase Authentication profile, including your unique User ID (UID), registered email address, name, and profile picture URL.

2. Health Profiles & Personalization (Sensitive Data): Your customized health profile containing ingredient allergies, specific dietary preferences, medical conditions, and any details added for family members.

3. Scan History & Insights: Your entire record of food and cosmetic product scans, along with associated rating calculations, AI-generated insights, and bookmarks.

4. Local Device Data: All cached credentials, authorization tokens, and preferences saved locally in the browser's localStorage and app cache.

5. FCM Tokens: Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens used for push notifications are fully invalidated.

What is Not Retained:

• AI Processing Data: Product images scanned and temporarily uploaded for Google Gemini AI analysis are only processed on-the-fly and are never retained or linked to your identity post-deletion.

• Third-Party Ads Telemetry: Aggregate, anonymized performance metrics (such as ad impressions, clicks, and general telemetry) generated by Google AdMob are collected by Google according to their own privacy policies. These contain no personal identifiers and cannot be linked to you after your ShuddhScan account is deleted.

Available Deletion Methods

We offer three convenient ways to permanently delete your account and data:

Method 1: Direct In-App Deletion via Profile / Settings (Recommended)

You can permanently delete your account directly from your account settings inside the web interface:

1. Open the ShuddhScan app or web portal.

2. Navigate to your Profile or Settings page/tab.

3. Scroll down and locate the "Delete Account Permanently" button.

4. A security modal will appear warning you that the action is immediate and irreversible.

5. Confirm your decision by clicking "Yes, Delete Permanently" (and authenticate again if prompted for security).

6. The application will immediately execute the deletion script, wipe your database records, erase your login session, and redirect you to the welcome screen.

Method 2: Direct In-App Deletion via Android Navigation Drawer

If you are using our native Android wrapper app, you can initiate immediate deletion from the slide-out navigation menu:

1. Tap the menu/drawer icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner of the app.

2. Tap the "Delete Account Permanently" button.

3. A secure JavaScript bridge is initiated via window.triggerDeleteAccount(), passing the request to our secure cloud backend:

   • Confirmation Dialog: A modal will prompt you to confirm that you want to delete your account and explain that all data will be lost forever.

   • Database & Auth Purge: Upon your confirmation, our servers delete your record from Firebase Auth and recursively wipe all Firestore collections belonging to your user ID.

   • State Cleanup: Once completed, the backend triggers AndroidBridge.onAccountDeleted(). This communicates back to the native Android framework, which signs out your Google Sign-In account, clears webview cookies, purges native application caches, and displays a success notification before restarting the app.

Method 3: Account Deletion Request via Email

If you are unable to access the app or prefer to request deletion manually, our support team can execute this process for you:

1. Compose an email from the email address registered with your ShuddhScan account.

2. Send the email to: shuddhscan1505@gmail.com

3. Use the subject line: Delete My Account

4. Optional but helpful: Mention your registered username or sign-in provider (e.g., Google Sign-In).

5. Timeline: Our team will verify your identity and manually execute the server-side deletion of your Firebase Auth profile and Firestore data within 7 business days. We will send a final confirmation email to you once the process is complete.

Critical Notice: Immediate and Irreversible

⚠️ WARNING: The account deletion process is absolute and cannot be undone. Once your data is deleted, we have no physical way to restore your history, custom health profiles, or saved scans. If you decide to use ShuddhScan again in the future, you will need to sign up as a new user and re-configure your preferences.
