Oliver Merriman is a Marine Corps veteran with six years of service. He enlisted in the Marines in 2014 and was assigned to MACS-24 Det. An in Fort Worth, TX. As a Ground Electrician, he helped to set up air traffic control operations in the field as well as cross-trained into Motor Transportations; leading convoys and working on trucks that always broke down. In 2019, he deployed to Al Jaber, Kuwait where he was the lead in setting up electrical operations for the air traffic element that he deployed with. During that time, he was posted on the USS Chesty Puller where he trained with a Mobile Marine Team to set up air operations in Djibouti, Africa. While still deployed, he completed training as a Marine Martial Arts Instructor and conducted multiple classes in his off time as well as training with CBRN Marines to be a part of the Rapid Response Team in case of chemical attacks. Oliver was honorably discharged in June of 2020 as a Sergeant and began classes at Sam Houston that following semester.

His hobbies include hunting, hiking, firearms training, and working out. You can typically find him with his wife and two dogs relaxing after a long day or grilling up the best ham and cheese sandwiches you've ever had. (wife's opinion)
