Project Associate-I May - Aug. 23
Project Associate-I for “Identifying Causes of Malnutrition in women and children in Madhya Pradesh to Develop Prevention Plans: A District-Level Analysis Using Data Science” | IISER Bhopal & AIGGPA
District-level analysis was used to identify necessary variables from more than 300+ variables from the NFHS-4 and NFHS-5 data. Models like (RF, DT, LR, MNB, and SVM) are used to identify the most relevant variables from the dependent variables. Achieved 0.75-0.9 accuracy, helped in unveiling correlations of various factors and malnutrition rates in Madhya Pradesh. Results showed us the nine important variables that can be the cause of malnutrition.
Used Stata, R and Python libraries - NumPy, Pandas, matplotlib, etc. for statistical evaluations and logistic regression was used in Stata to obtain the results in the second method.
Research : Master’s Thesis Aug. 22 - April 23
Title: “Investment and Borrowing in India: Exploring Household Decision-Making.”
Conducted in-depth research on consumer financial behavior by examining household data. Results showed us how income, age, gender, occupation, region, etc., can affect decision-making in Indian markets from the perspective of investing and borrowing from the different income brackets in India.
Integrated Stata and Prowess IQ were used to obtain related data fields, and data analytics techniques like data cleaning, merging, sorting, trend analysis, and regression modeling were successfully used to find the correlation among the chosen factors.
Research : Testing effect of liquidity coverage ratio on the bank’s profitability
▪ Compiled the data manually using annual reports between 2015-2022 for asset, liability, net profit, etc.
▪ Performed diagnostic tests like the Hausman test, Wald test, SNP, SFP, SWP, KNP, etc., were conducted to find the suitable model for the dataset and used the random effect model in R to analyze the correlations.
▪ Checked whether the profitability of the Indian public sector banks was affected by the new Besel III regulations of maintaining a certain amount of liquidity coverage ratios in the banks.
▪ Found that maintaining LCR does increase the profitability of banks in India.
