Meet the executive members of the 2021-2022 school year!
President - Jessica Weinberg
Jessica is a senior majoring in Information Technology with a minor in Film Studies. She is from the northern suburbs of Chicago. Jessica joined SRS as a freshman where she fell in love with video editing. For SRS, Jessica serves as both President and Head Editor. She hopes to use the skills and experience from SRS to enter the industry and eventually find success as a video editor.
Vice President - Angela Schlaker
Angela is a senior majoring in Communication and Film Studies and minoring in Digital Storytelling and French. She is from St. Louis. Angela got into film because she loves watching movies and learning about what happens behind the scenes. In SRS, Angela has worked on the sets of “Campaign”, “The Cat Killer”, “She’ll Be Seeing You”, and Mr. Wizz. She believes that SRS has been a great club for her to continue learning and practicing skills, as well as networking. After she graduates, Angela hopes to continue doing production and post-production work.
Executive Producer - Adam Rush
Adam is a junior majoring in Theatre and Film, with an emphasis on writing for performance. He is from St. Louis. Adam says that his love for screenwriting came as a gradual realization of how much he loved spending hours getting to know characters so well that it almost felt like he knew them. Adam developed, showran, and directed “She’ll Be Seeing You,” Episode 2 of SRS’s Audio Drama series last school year and earned a 7/10 review from The Black List on a half hour dark comedy script. After he graduates, Adam hopes to be a professional screenwriter.
Executive Producer and Showrunner - Andrew Cassell
Andrew is a senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Aerospace Engineering. He is from St. Louis. Andrew got into movies at a very young age and attributes Return of the Jedi as his gateway into the realm of storytelling. Ever since working at a movie theater in high school, Andrew has been able to expand his horizons into different genres and now tries to watch new movies every week to continue to grow his knowledge and understanding of film. In SRS, Andrew has written and directed “The Cat Killer,” was a writer and Executive Producer of Mr. Wizz, and was an Executive Producer of “She’ll Be Seeing You”. Andrew’s plans after college are open-ended, but he hopes to pursue a career in the film or television industry.
Marketing - Ashley Stout
Ashley is a junior majoring in Communication and Film Studies (Production) with a minor in Digital Storytelling. She is from St. Louis and recently moved to Houston. Ashley has been obsessed with all things film and television her whole life. Her parents say that when she was a baby, anytime the television was on, her eyes were glued to the screen. In SRS, Ashley is Head Writer in writer’s room and has worked on “The Cat Killer”, “She’ll Be Seeing You”, and is now directing an episode. After she graduates, Ashley hopes to pursue a career in any field of media, whether that is in marketing, advertising, social media, or the television/film industry.
Treasurer - Elizabeth Schlaker
Elizabeth is a senior majoring in Communication with minors in Film Studies, Information Technology, and Spanish. She is from St. Louis. Elizabeth got into film after randomly watching the director's commentary/ behind the scenes for Mamma Mia. It was then that she realized her love for the filmmaking process. In SRS, Elizabeth works in the editor’s room, and she has worked on “The Cat Killer”, “She'll Be Seeing You”, and Mr. Wizz. Her favorite parts about SRS are the amazing people and all of the skills she has learned.
Secretary - Audrey Mueller
Audrey is a sophomore majoring in Public History with a minor in German. She is from Columbia, MO. Audrey has been making films as a hobby since she was in middle school. She loves how film combines so many different elements of art including writing, performance, music, visual storytelling, and design. In SRS, Audrey is active in writer’s room and pitched/developed Mr. Wizz. Audrey hopes to develop her abilities in a filmmaking team in a more professional capacity in SRS and likes how SRS teams model the real system in which films are made in the industry.
