To maintain the highest standards of safety, tradition, and professional development at Shoshin Judo, all students are required to hold a current membership with the United States Judo Association (USJA).
Comprehensive Insurance: Your USJA membership provides essential secondary medical insurance. This ensures that every student on our mats is covered during practice, local clinics, and sanctioned events.
Rank Certification: To have your belts officially recognized across the country (and the world), they must be registered with a national governing body. The USJA tracks your progress and ensures your hard-earned rank follows you wherever you go.
Eligibility for Competition: Thinking of testing your skills? A valid USJA card is your "passport" to compete in sanctioned tournaments and attend specialized technical seminars.
Supporting the Sport: By joining, you contribute to the growth of Judo in the United States, helping fund coaching programs, referee certification, and athlete development.
To register for your membership, please visit the official United States Judo Association website at usja.net.
The USJA offers several enrollment options to accommodate your training needs:
Annual Membership: $75 per year for full access to rank certification, insurance coverage, and sanctioned events.
Introductory Trial: A "10 for 10" membership ($10 for 10 days) is available for those interested in a short-term trial period.
Family Discounts: Reduced rates are available for households with multiple practitioners.
Club Dues (Seperate from USJA National Registration)
To help offset the cost of National Registraiton your first Month of Club Dues is FREE!!!
$30 a Month
$15 a Month
Camargo Church Members: FREE
Other Church Attendees: $15 a Month.
First member is full price; each additional member is $15. Total family cost capped at 50% of the combined full prices.Â
How it works: > Let's say a family of four (two adults and two children) joins the journey together. Instead of paying the individual rates, your monthly total would be calculated as follows:
1st Member (Adult): $30
2nd Member: $15
3rd Member: $15
4th Member: $15
Total: $75 / month (Total Savings: $45 off standard rates!)
Note: We cap total family dues at 50% of the combined full prices, ensuring that as your family grows, your training remains affordable.
Shoshin Judo is a non-profit organization dedicated entirely to the growth of our students and the sport of Judo. We do not operate for personal gain; instead, every dollar collected through club fees is reinvested directly into our mission.
Club Supplies: All funds are first used to maintain and upgrade our training environment, including high-quality mats, safety equipment, and instructional resources.
Giving Back: In the spirit of Jita-Kyoei (Mutual Welfare and Benefit), any surplus funds at the end of the year are donated directly to the church that hosts our club.
By training with us, you aren't just investing in your own martial arts journey—you are supporting the upkeep of our facilities and contributing to the local community.
