What do I need to do before the class?

Nothing! Just show up and we will walk you through all of the instructions, species of wood, joinery, and the small details on your piece. 

What do we do in the class?

One of our instructors will begin by walking you through the machining and labor that went into the lumber we provide. They will discuss the different species of wood, and allow you to select the lumber for your project. A little bit of sanding, and attention to joinery, and then you will be gluing your project together. While the glue dries, feel free to grab a drink for the bar and socialize with the other classmates. Perhaps get some food from the food truck (depending on location). After approximately 30 minutes well come back together and put the final touches on your design. Take it home and enjoy!

Can I make adaptations to the design?

All of our projects are custom fabricated by our team in our woodshop. The pieces are precisely made to fit together seamlessly for easy assembly. There will be small modifications you can make, like wood choice, handle shape, and laser etching your design. For a more robust experience making something one of a kind, we encourage you taking one of our other offered sessions.

What happens if I do not finish?

As this is limited enrollment, we make sure that we have the perfect amount of time and help to get your project completed. Our woodworking staff is well prepared to help you out along the way.

Are there power tools involved?

We know what you're thinking... beer... power tools. I don't want to lose a finger! In this brief class, we pre-process all materials. Class members are assembling the pieces, gluing, sanding, and finishing. No power tools are used in the session by any of the class participants. Our goal is to give an opportunity to experience woodworking as a snapshot. If you want to learn more about the machines, see our other sessions that are offered.

Cancellation Policy?

We do not offer refunds unless a particular class does not reach minimum numbers or, for some unforeseen reason, must be canceled or rescheduled by Shokunin Woodworks. In this case, you will offered a full refund. You will first be offered the option to choose a future class to attend.​

If you cannot attend class, you must contact us BEFORE the class, and we will reschedule you for a future class. You must email us before 10 AM on the day of your scheduled class. You may rebook your class for an upcoming class at any brewery location we offer.
