1. Synthesis of Nanomaterials

Inorganic nanocrystals are often endowed with unique material properties (e.g., quantum confinement, superparamagnetism, and catalytic effect), which cannot be observed in their bulk counterpart, due to the low dimensional confinement of materials. In particular, the properties of nanocrystals can be precisely tuned by controlling their size, shape, composition, and crystallinity. In our lab, we aim to synthesize different types of nanocrystals with high monodispersity and desirable properties for applications in magnetics, catalysis, optics, and bio-applications.
