Ms. Rice

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! I am Abby Rice and I am really excited to be teaching 7th Grade Science here at Sonoran Heights Middle School this year.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology from ASU (go Sun Devils!!!) and I have a Master's degree in Science Teaching from NAU. I have been teaching since 2001 and during that time I have taught middle school and high school science as well as college biology. I love science because it's about so many different things - from the DNA that makes us who we are to the laws of physics that explain how everything moves.

I have 2 kids. Kody is in 10th grade and Jilliann is in 8th grade. We also have two crazy dogs named Shelly and Oakley, a feisty cat named Tiger, and two parakeets - Bubbles and Buddy. When we aren't at school, you can usually find us near water - in a pool, at the lake, or down in Mexico!
