Profile Summary: Shi-Woei Lin is currently a professor in the Department of Industrial Management at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2004. His primary research areas focus on risk and decision analysis, economics modeling and game theory, behavioral economics, and applied statistics. His current research interests include the application of game theory and mechanism design models to risk regulation or natural resource management, the use of mathematical model to aggregate experts’ uncertainty judgment, and the treatment of uncertainty and variability in making decisions about risk. He is highly interested in extending his research territory further into the data mining applicaitons in retailing, healthcare and engineering.
