Background
Shivbanki Farmer Producer Company Limited was incorporated on 24 July 2023 at Village Sandauli
Umarpur in Banki Block of Barabanki district, Uar Pradesh. The Farmer Producer Company was
formed under the Government of India’s flagship iniave 10,000 FPOs Formaon & Promoon
Scheme, implemented through Small Farmers Agribusiness Consorum to organize small and
marginal farmers into formal collecves and enhance their access to markets, technology, and
instuonal support.
Agriculture is the primary source of livelihood for most farmers in this region. However, farmers
tradionally faced several challenges such as limited access to quality agricultural inputs,
dependency on local traders for selling their produce, price fluctuaons, and lack of organized
market linkages. Due to these constraints, farmers were oen unable to realize fair prices for their
produce and had limited bargaining power in the market.
To address these issues and create a sustainable ecosystem for farmers, Shivbanki Farmer Producer
Company Limited was established with the objecve of aggregang farmers, strengthening market
linkages, and enabling collecve procurement and markeng of agricultural produce.
The FPO is currently governed by a Board of five Directors and five Promoters, and has successfully
mobilized 750 members, out of which 701 farmers are shareholders of the company. The
management team includes CEO Ramendra Kashyap, Accounts Officer Ajendra Singh, and Secretary

FPO aggregates fruits and vegetables produced by its shareholder farmers and supplies them directly
to consumers as well as the HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant and Catering) segment. This direct market
access enables farmers to bypass mulple intermediaries and receive beer prices for their produce.
In addion to retail markeng, the FPO has established an agriculture input outlet at Lakhaicha
Chauraha in Barabanki district, where farmers can access seeds and crop protecon products at
affordable rates. The FPO has also obtained district distributorship of Shepurak Agritech & Services
Pvt Ltd, a company specializing in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) soluons. Through this outlet,
farmers receive technical guidance on scienfic farming pracces and strategies to reduce input costs
while maintaining crop producvity.
The FPO has also made efforts to establish strong instuonal market linkages. It has successfully
secured vendor codes with major instuonal buyers, including Parle Biscuits Pvt Ltd for maize
procurement used in ethanol producon, Naonal Cooperave Development Federaon of India
for potato supply, and Naonal Bulk Handling Corporaon for grain procurement, other than this
E-nam, ONDC, GeM, NeML etc also fpo registered for linkages. These partnerships provide reliable

performance.

Secondly, the availability of quality seeds and crop protecon inputs at reasonable prices has helped
farmers reduce producon costs and improve crop producvity.
