My Ph.D. dissertation is titled 'Women, Work and Life: A Case Study of Domestic Workers in India'. Herein, I examine the documentation of domestic workers, particularly part-time domestic workers, in labour market statistics and contribute to an improved methodology to record their participation and experiences. The data for my thesis has been collected through a combination of primary and secondary data sources. The primary data has been collected through extensive fieldwork in Delhi over a period of 9 months.
I have been actively engaged in fieldwork across several states in India as part of multiple projects/ studies focused on studying the working and living conditions of informal workers, especially women. Consequently, I have contributed as a field researcher for surveys conducted in Bihar, Delhi, Kerala, Punjab and Tamil Nadu.
