Effective date: April 27, 2026
Ship Tracker ("Ship Tracker", "we", "us", or "our") is operated by Appmerge. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the Ship Tracker mobile application and related services.
If you have questions, contact us at support@appmerge.net.
Ship Tracker may ask for access to your device location. Location access is optional and is used to center the map, find vessels near you, find nearby ports, and show nearby maritime infrastructure.
When you use nearby features, your latitude and longitude may be sent to our backend service to return nearby vessel, port, and maritime information. Ship Tracker does not create a user account or maintain an in-app location history.
When you search or refresh the map, we may process information such as vessel names, IMO numbers, MMSI numbers, callsigns, flags, port names, map bounds, vessel identifiers, and related query parameters. This data is used to return vessel positions, vessel details, port information, inbound vessel information, NAVTEX messages, and maritime infrastructure results.
If you save vessels to your fleet or watchlist, those saved vessel identifiers and related display information are stored locally on your device. The app does not require an account to use this feature.
Ship Tracker offers premium subscriptions through the Apple App Store. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment details are handled by Apple.
We use AppActor to manage paywalls, offerings, subscription status, entitlements, purchase history, and restore-purchase functionality. AppActor may process purchase history, user identifiers, advertising attribution data, and related app functionality data as described by its SDK privacy disclosures.
We do not receive or store your full credit card number or App Store payment credentials.
We and our service providers may process technical information such as app version, device type, operating system, IP address, request timestamps, backend request logs, error messages, diagnostics, cache status, rate-limit status, and subscription entitlement state. This information helps us provide the app, secure the service, prevent abuse, debug issues, and improve reliability.
If you contact support, we may receive your email address and any information you include in your message.
We use information to:
Provide live vessel maps, vessel search, vessel details, port intelligence, maritime alerts, and nearby results.
Center the map and return nearby vessels, ports, and maritime infrastructure when you choose to use location features.
Operate premium subscriptions, paywalls, purchase validation, entitlement checks, and restore-purchase functionality.
Save your local fleet/watchlist preferences on your device.
Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app and backend service.
Respond to support requests.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
We may share information with:
Apple, StoreKit, and the App Store for purchases, subscriptions, billing, refunds, and subscription management.
AppActor for subscription offerings, purchase validation, entitlement management, remote configuration, and attribution/analytics functionality.
Backend hosting, infrastructure, logging, monitoring, and security providers that help us operate Ship Tracker.
Maritime data providers and APIs used to return vessel, port, NAVTEX, and maritime infrastructure information.
Apple MapKit and Apple platform services used to display maps and location-based app functionality.
Legal, regulatory, or safety authorities when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information to track you across third-party apps or websites for targeted advertising.
Saved vessels and watchlist data remain on your device until you remove them or delete the app.
Location requests and search requests are processed to provide app functionality. Backend systems and service providers may retain technical logs for security, debugging, abuse prevention, analytics, and operational purposes for as long as reasonably necessary.
Support emails are retained as needed to respond to your request and maintain support records.
Subscription and purchase records are handled by Apple and AppActor according to their systems and retention practices.
You can allow, deny, or revoke location access at any time in your device settings.
You can manage or cancel App Store subscriptions from your Apple account settings. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel a subscription.
You can remove saved vessels inside the app. Deleting the app also removes locally stored app data from your device.
You may contact support@appmerge.net to request help, ask privacy questions, or request deletion of information we can reasonably associate with you.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Ship Tracker is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@appmerge.net.
Information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Data protection laws may vary by country, but we take steps designed to protect information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Ship Tracker provides maritime information for general informational purposes only. Vessel positions, port data, alerts, and related maritime information may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or affected by third-party data sources. Ship Tracker is not intended for navigation, safety-of-life, emergency response, or operational maritime decision-making.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice where required.
