The horror of Israeli genocide and continued violations of international law have awakened people around the globe to the injustices faced by the Palestinians. The bombing of civilians and refugee camps, blowing up hospitals, schools and places of worship and denying humanitarian aid, food, water and electricity to the civilian population have spurred millions to take a stance. 

This local boycott of Israeli companies and produce takes its lead from the global BDS Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement. BDS aims to exert pressure on Israel to comply with international law, to end the occupation of Palestinian land, for full equality for all citizens and the right of return for Palestinian refugees.

Where possible, I will boycott the BDS list of priority target companies, and stop buying Israeli produce. I will also support the Shipley businesses which have signed up to the coalition to show solidarity with them for taking this principled stand.
