About Mrs. Shipley

I grew up in a small town in Indiana, 30 miles outside of Chicago, but moved to Charlotte 16 years ago after I graduated from Manchester University with my Bachelors Degree in Elementary & Special Education.  I taught 5th grade for 3 years and Talent Development for 8 years in Iredell-Statesville Schools.  During my time there I obtained my Gifted Certification from UNC-Pembroke and became a National Board Certified Teacher.  I am thrilled about teaching 1st grade at Davidson again this year!  

My husband, Brock, teaches engineering at Hough High School.  We have three children… Isaac just turned 10, Harper just turned 6, and Zander just turned 2!  We love traveling, going to the beach, and eating ice cream!
