桃花心木小學

成排桃花心木林、稻田環繞綠生態和建於1939年的日式歷史建築是學校三大特色，也是新東節氣好菌稻校本課程、教學卓越特色教學及優質學習的利基。

The three major characterstics of our school are, the Mahogany forest, the surrounding paddyfield, and a Japanese-style building built in 1939. They're not only the basis of our school-based curriculum but one which provides us a brilliant teaching and learning environment.

走出教室學習

透過專業教師討論與一塊夢想田的發想，建構與執行學校本位課程，從經營一塊田—從做中學，培育孩子立足社會、振興社區該具備的素養。

Starting from a Dream Field, we discussed with professional teachers to construct a school-based curriculum. We hope to lead the children to learn by doing from running a paddyfield, and cultivate the ability that children need to keep a foothold in society and revitalize their own community.

永續深耕校園

學習自然農法用好菌帶領孩子種稻，從小建立順應天時，無農藥、無化肥亦可栽出品質優且收成豐碩農作物的優質觀念。即使將來未薪傳農業的孩子，也能成為食安觀念良好、願意選擇無毒農作物的聰明消費者，促成自然農法農業的盛行，進而達成珍愛大地，永續家園的理想。新東國小教學團隊讓SDGs的永續發展觀念一步一腳印地落實在生活中！

We help children to learn how to grow rice with natural farming methods, and develope the concept of going with nature and the seasons. So that our children learn that without pesticides and chemical fertilizers, we can still grow high-quality crops and get rich harvests. Even if our children do not engage in agriculture in the future, they can be smart consumers of crops with a good food safety values. To let the natural farming method prevail, and then accomplish the ideal of cherishing the earth and keeping it a sustainable homeland, the teaching team of  Xindong Elementary School dedicates to practice the spirit of sustainable development of SDGs in our daily life!

翻轉農村宿命

新東國小的教師團隊希望孩子們能翻轉自己的命運，更要翻轉社區。目前新東的專案課程實施五年餘，已有初步成果，看得見未來。持之以恆，十年後孩子們長大有足夠能力領航社區，未來農村樣貌將隨之改變。

The teacher team of Xindong Elementary School hopes that the children can not only change their own destiny, but change the community. At present, our project courses have been implemented for more than five years, we have gained the first fruits, and our bright future can be seen. We believe that as long as we keep working at it, ten years later, the face of the rural area will be changed as our children are able to lead the community.
