Social well-being is our ability to communicate with others, develop and maintain positive relationships, identify others' emotions, and respond empathically! Emotional well-being is our ability to cope with stressors, identify what we are feeling, and manage our emotions in a positive and supportive manner (Arizona State University, n.d).
Students who develop healthier social and emotional well-being have improved personal and social skills, attitudes, positive social behavior, and academic performance. It is also shown to reduce activity in problematic behavior and emotional distress (Durklak et al., 2022, as cited in American School Counselor, 2023).
