I hold a PhD in Climate Science from the Centre for Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (CAOS), Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. I did it under the supervision of Prof Arindam Chakraborty. My research area revolves around understanding the low-frequency global climate variability with special emphasis on the El Nino Southern Oscillations and Global Monsoon. In particular, I delve into understanding the role of internal climate variability in influencing El Nino Southern Oscillation seasonal transitions. I received the prestigious Prime Minister's Research Fellowship (PMRF) in August 2020. I hail from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh (gorakhpur.nic.in/).

When I’m not immersed in research, I enjoy spending time with my wife, cooking, traveling, hiking and trekking in nature, exploring music, reading about ancient history, culture and being around pets.
