I joined HKUST-GZ as an assistant professor at IoT Thrust in Feb, 2024. I graduated from the SPiNCOM group at University of Minnesota, Twin Cities., in 2022. I am fortunate to work under the supervision of Prof. Georgios. B. Giannakis, and previously of Prof. Liuqing Yang at Colorado State University. I obtained B.S. from Nankai University in 2014 and M.S. from Peking University in 2017. Before joining HKUST-GZ, I worked at Samsung SoC R&D Lab as a Senior RF engineer in San Diego.
My mission is to transform situational invisible signals into intelligent design insights. My research lies in the broad areas of statistical signal processing, wireless communication, mobile networking, and artificial intelligence, with applications to 6G, Connected Vehicles, and Low-Altitude System. I am particularly interested in the following directions:
Multi-Modal Sensing and Computation
Low-Altitude Radio-Map Generation
LLM for Wireless Networking
Agentic AI for Mobile Edge
Note: All Ph.D. vacancies for Fall 2026/Spring 27 are filled already.
If you find my research areas intriguing😀, consider yourself motivated🤗, and appreciate my mentoring philosophy😊, please feel free to email me by attaching your resume, transcripts, and sample publications if any, with the subject title formatted as "[Name]_[University]_[Major]_[Applied Position]." Preference will be given to those with a solid mathematical foundation, strong hand-on skills and good publication track record. Past experience in AI implementation, embedded programming, USRP, or FPGA will be a big plus!
Note:
The University Requires a standard English proficiency test for Ph.D. applicants: TOFEL-iBT: 80; IELTS: 6.5 (all sub-score: 5.5). For Ph.D. students, the postgraduate studentship (PGS) is CNY 15,000 per month.
