Various Versions and Source Files

There have been many, many different copies and remixes of the Did You Know? (Shift Happens) presentation. Here are just a few of them... [note: we have created a separate page for translated versions]

Iowa, Did You Know? (August 2011) [version 5]

Created by Scott McLeod and XPLANE for the Iowa Future initiative

Did You Know? 4.0 (September 2009)

Created by XPLANE, The Economist, Scott McLeod, Karl Fisch, & Laura Bestler. For The Economist's Media Convergence Forum in September 2009.

Did You Know? 3.0 (October 2008)

Created by Sony/BMG, Karl Fisch, Scott McLeod, and Jeff Brenman. A remake of Version 1.0. The best copy we have of this version.

Did You Know? 2.0 (June 2007)

Created by Karl Fisch, Scott McLeod, and XPLANE.

Did You Know? 2.0 - Source Files

You can download the source files for Version 2.0. Use these if you want to modify the presentation (see our Copyright Notice for more info). If you just want to download the presentation, see the instructions above.

  • You can download a 135 MB .zip file containing the Flash source (FLA) and audio (AIF) files. Flash CS3 is required to open the FLA file.
  • The 130 MB audio file also can be downloaded separately.

Please note that we cannot offer technical support for these files - they are provided "as is."

As you'll see, in the new version we tried to minimize what some perceived as alarmism about globalism. We also fixed some errors, changed the music to something that didn't violate copyright, and got a complete graphic makeover from XPLANE. Additionally, we added some material after 'Shift Happens' to encourage viewer conversation and action.

And, of course, the original version and its progeny are still out there...

Did You Know? 1.0 (August 2006 / January 2007)

Created by Karl Fisch. Modified by Scott McLeod.
