ARTIST/ART EDUCATOR
ARTIST/ART EDUCATOR
I am a professional fine artist and art teacher/educator, trained in a wide range of artistic mediums and pedagogy, including computer art; I am a cooperating teacher and a certified TEAM Mentor to beginner teachers in the State of Connecticut. I was Adjunct Professor of Art and Art Education at Teachers College, Columbia University for over fifteen years. I have over twenty seven years of K-12 teaching experience in public schools. I believe that art is a form of cognition that nurtures creative self-expression as students visualize ideas and solve problems through engagement with different materials. I recently co-authored a book titled: Art and Technology: Innovative K-12 Digital Lessons with my colleague, published by Teachers College Press (2021).
