I used Nylo's song "Cocaine Hearts" as inspiration for my poster. When I brainstormed some Ideas, I decided to create a thunderstorm poster with a lightning bolt in the shape of a heart that trails down the thunderstorm. Looking further down, a woman is crouched, looking up at it. The lightning heart represents the thrill and anxiety of living life young, rather than worrying about the long part of life being depressing; hence the lyrics: "I'd rather die young and happy, than to live long and sad."
The Brush I used was a custom brush of a cloud image I had. Using that brush, I created a stormy background, emphasizing the somber theme of the song.
To make the heart look more thunderous, I had to use a lot of inner and outer glow to create the lightning. For the extended thunderbolts, I just drew zig-zag lines to give the thunder.

I was advised to fix the lighting since it over-shadowed the woman below. I went back to revise my work with some blending and overlaying.
