Sunday 14 May saw 25 of the Island's best pool players competing for the annual challenge event at Neptune Snooker Hall with a total prize fund of £430.00 for the day.
The last 16 saw Gary Kingsnorth, Adam Kenyon, Tony Gray Snr, Luke Carey, Charlie Minta, Steve Ritchie, Dave Goldsmith and Matt Champ progress to the quarter finals and then Gary, Tony Snr, Charlie and Champ progress to their respective semi finals.
An inspired Charlie Minta dispatched Matt Champ 5-3 with two particularly disgusting clearances and Tony Gray had too much for Gary and won 5-2.
Tony was methodical as usual and, due to a few rolls going against Charlie and Tony capitalising when it counted, found himself the winner of £200.00 for his troubles. Charlie won £70.00 for his fine effort getting to the final.
In the plate, Jamie O'Donnell beat Mark Popple in his semi-final with Danny Harris beating Tony Gray Junior to set up the final. Jamie O'Donnell played some solid stuff to win 3-1. Both players split the pot and took £40.00 each for their day's graft.
Special thanks to Aaron Gray Electrics for sponsoring the event in addition to Neptune Snooker Club for hosting the event
