Sheerness Easy Bike Rides: Also for beginners and casual riders, focusing on shorter distances of 6 Miles or Less.
Sheerness Medium/Hard Bike Rides: For confident, experienced riders who are comfortable tackling routes of 8 Miles or More.

A fun day filled with a social bike ride and a picnic held at "Beachfields Park" for a fun day for the family. Presented by the "Sheppey Community Cycling Club"

A fun day with Punch and Judy held at "Pidgeon Park"(Behind Holy Trinty Church) this event is held by the "Sheerness Town Team" but our "Cycling UK" mechanic will be at this event ready to help you try and fix your bike.

4th JULY 2026 -Social Bike Ride
Today was a short ride turned longer. We started at New Road following the road towards Queensway and along the Canal Path. we followed the Canal all the way to Bartons Point and up towards the Sea front. We followed the Sea Front up to the Leas and stopping for a bathroom break before setting off back along the Sea front and back towards Bartons Point. At Bartons Point, we stopped off at the cafe for our cafe stop before following the canal path back towards St Georges Avenue and following the route back round towards New Road where we ended our ride.
2nd May 2026 - Social Bike Ride
Today, we started at New Road Sheerness taking a short ride. We headed up towards Blue town where we circled round near the Island Works at Dockyard Church. From here, we took a ride through the pathway and back towards Sheerness, and round past McDonald's. As we passed McDonald's, we headed into Beach Street, down past the swimming pool and onto the main road by the St Henry and St Elizabeth Church onto the Broadway following the road round onto Trinty Road and then followed that road into Millennium Way. We followed Millennium Way down towards the train station, then followed the route back towards the starting point.
7th March 2026 - Social Bike Ride
Today, we started at New Road Sheerness taking a short ride. We headed round towards Tesco Superstore, and followed the route onto the Beach. We followed the Route up towards the Leas where we stopped off for a toilet break. After a short break, we made a U-Turn heading back along the trail and followed the route round through Bartons Point Coastal Park, over the Bridge, and Along the Canal. From here, we followed the Main road towards St Georges Avenue, and then round towards New Road Sheerness where we completed our ride.
7th February 2026 - Social Bike Ride
We had a wet, but amazing ride today starting from New Road Sheerness taking the route through Sheerness High Street and up towards the beach. Once on the beach, we rode the route past the Catholic Church, Past the Arcades and all the way towards the Leas in Minster and stopped off at the "Little Oyster Cafe. after our break, we headed back along the beach towards Bartons Point Coastal Park and rode along there (Heading over the cycle dismount bridge) and then along by the canal till we reached the main road. as we joined the main road, we headed down Maple Street, through First Avenue, and turned Left onto St George's Avenue. we followed this road up towards Medway Road (Sheerness) and into New Road Sheerness following it back towards the Starting point.
13th June 2026 - Social bike ride
Today we started at Queenborough Railway Station and followed the road up towards Rushenden. We rode around Rushenden and followed the back roads towards Neats Court having a view of the Sheppey Crossing Bridge in the distance. When we arrived at Neats Court, we stopped off at Starbucks where we had a hot drink and socialised. after riding back into Queenborough, some of our participants asked if they could have a bit of a longer ride. for those that wanted a bit of a longer ride, we took them down past Queenborough All Tide Landing and followed the route along the beach towards Blue Town Sheerness. When we arrived at Blue Town Sheerness, we took the remaining participants on a little history tour along the High Street of Blue Town. after our little tour, we headed up by Tesco onto the beach showing them where the soldiers used to shoot from and then took them down by the sandpit and ended the ride at the Sheerness Train Station ready for their departure home.
16th May 2026 - Social Bike Ride
Today we started at Queenborough Railway Station and followed the road up towards Rushenden where we split off from the road and over the small bridge towards Neats Court Retail Park. When we arrived here, we stopped off at Costa to grab a drink and a small snack. after a little break we followed the unmade path round towards Queenborough and heading towards the Train Station where we finished our ride.
14th February 2026 - Valentines Special
We had a very special valentines day ride. we kept it short and sweet for all those that enjoy a smaller ride. Some new participants had the joy of joining us today. We started from Queenborough Railway Station and followed the road up towards Rushenden following it down towards the grassy fields. Unfortunately, due to the weather, we had to change the route from going through the field and took another route round towards the back roads that lead us round towards Neats Court stopping along the way for a group photo. At Neats Court, we stopped off for a Coffee/Tea/Hot Chocolate and a social chat where we also received a small box of Malteasers. From here, we followed the trail round the back of Neats Court towards the High Street of Queenborough and back towards the Railway Station where we completed the ride.
17th January 2026 - Social Bike Ride
We had our very first Queenborough ride Starting and ending at Queenborough Railway Station where we followed the route round towards Neats court, stopping off at Starbucks before riding the trail back towards Queenborough and ending at the Train Station.
27th JUNE 2026 - Sheppey Light Railway Greenway Special
Today we had an amazing ride starting from New Road Sheerness. We followed the route along New Road turning into Medway Road and then following the Fleet into Queensway. Once we got to Queensway, We followed cycled the loop and headed towards the Canal Path. We cycled all the way down the Canal Path towards halfway Road and followed the main road towards Power Station Road. From Power Station Road, we followed the Sheppey Light Railway Greenway. Once reaching the other side, we cycled along Scrapsgate and down towards the Sea front, along The Leas and towards The Little Oyster Cafe where we stopped off for a short cafe stop.
After our cafe stop, we cycled back towards the Sheppey Light Railway Greenway from the direction we had come from, and followed the route along to their new seating area where we celebrated with a ribbon cutting and a couple of soft drinks. after our little celebration, we cycled along the rest of the track and along Halfway Road where we cycled back round towards St Georges Avenue and Followed the route back round to New Road and our starting point.
25th April 2026 - Social Bike Ride
Today we had an amazing long ride towards Bartons Point following the route along the canal. From Bartons Point, we went along the sea-front towards the Leas in Minster, followed it up towards The Broadway in Minster, and followed the route round towards the Sheppey Light Railway Greenway Trail that leads from Scrapsgate Road to Power Station Road. From Power Station Road, we followed the main road along Halfway Road towards Sheerness and through the High Street. We finished our ride at Beachfields Park and let everyone head off to enjoy the festivities of St Georges Day with the event that was held there that day.
21st February 2026 - Social Bike Ride
We had an amazing and long ride today starting from New Road Sheerness going up towards the Sheerness Beach where we followed the route towards The Leas in Minster. From here, we followed Seaside Avenue and turned up Scarborough Drive and round towards the queens Road onto Chapel Street following the main road towards Eastchurch. From Eastchurch, we followed Warden Road, round to Plough Road and followed the route back towards Chequers Road and followed Wards hill, down towards the main road along Marine Parade, Down towards Bartons Point and followed St Georges Road up and round to New Road where we completed the bike ride at our starting location.
24th January 2026 - Social Bike Ride
We had an amazing ride today starting from New Road Sheerness taking the route through the Sheerness High street and up towards the beach where we headed past Tesco, down towards Blue Town and followed the route towards Queenborough where we stopped for a small break. After our break, we moved on towards Neats Court where we popped into our local "Sports Direct" where a couple of us bought some stuff. After here, we headed to "Starbucks" where we stopped for a coffee and a snack before we set off again down the trail leading us back into Queenborough. From Queenborough, we headed towards Queenborough Corner and followed the back road towards Lower road following the trail along towards Bartons Hill Drive and round towards the "Sheppey Light Railway Greenway" and followed the route back towards New Road Sheerness
14th June 2026 - Bike Week Brunch
Today was a nice sunny day and a day fit for a Bike Week Brunch. we were down at Beachfields Park where we set up a little picnic celebrating Bike Week. We went on a small social Bike ride along the seafront towards the Sheerness Docks and turning back round towards Beachfields Park where we had some food. After some food, letting our belly's settle, and after some socialising, we went for a bit of a longer bike ride down the back way past the local swimming pool, onto the main road, through Seager Road and onto the canal path. From here, we followed the route towards Queensway, along New Road past the PIL Self Storage and back round towards Beachfields park. Both rides were to simulate what happens on led rides and what to expect for our social bike rides. As well as having a little picnic, we also managed to get some information out about the Sheppey Community Cycling Club. and what we do.
6th June 2026 - New Road FC
Today was meant to be a day for "Lark In The Park" where we would have had stalls and the Big Bike Revival Mechanic to fix bikes as well as a small bike ride where we would of ended our ride at, but due to weather conditions, we had to postpone our event. With some luck, we were able to set up at New Road FC with an information stall. A big thank you to New Road FC for allowing us to join in their event where we had Sid The "Cycle" Sheep make an appearance.
16th May 2026 - Bike Mechanic
Today, Cycling UK came to Queenborough at Castle connection for the Bike Mechanic to fix bikes free of charge. There were plenty of people who turned up for this event, including us here at Sheppey Community Cycling Club to support Cycling UK.
25th April 2026 - St George's Day Event
Today We had an event at Beachfields Park where we had our mechanic to help those that needed their bikes fixed. we held some games to help those to enjoy themselves as well as giving some information out about future events and what we do helping to get the community into cycling for all abilities.
13th December 2025 - Xmas Special
We had a small but still an amazing ride today starting from New Road Sheerness heading towards the Fleet and broke off towards Queensway following the route round towards Edenbridge Drive where we joined the canal route up towards South View Gardens. From here we followed various roads round towards St Georges following the route back towards the starting point in New Road Sheerness. To finish off the Xmas Special, we walked from New Road Sheerness towards "Wetherspoon: The Belle and Lion" where we had a meal (Paying for ourselves).
15th November 2025 - Social Bike Ride
We had an amazing ride today starting from New Road Sheerness. We took a different aproach today, heading towards Queensway and up towards the Railway Bridge crossing over and heading towards Queenborough where we had a stop for a small break near the "Old House At Home". After our small break, we cycled along Queenborough's main High Street, before heading across the A249 towards Queenborough Corner and round towards the back roads of Queenborough Road leading out to the Cycle Route that leads alongside Lower Road. We followed this route up towards Thistle Hill Way where we stopped off at "Thistle Hill Community Woodland". While stopping here, a couple of us had a little explore on our bikes before heading back with the rest of the group. Leaving here, we followed the route round towards Minster Village following various roads that lead us round towards the cliffs following a safe route down towards The Leas where we stopped off at the "Little Oyster Tea Room". After our break here, we rode along the beach following it all the way up towards Tesco and following the roads from there back round towards the starting point at New Road Sheerness.
18th October 2025 - Social Bike Ride
We had an amazing ride today starting from New Road Sheerness, riding along towards Queensway and then down along the canal. We came off the canal trail when we got to Halfway Road, and rode up towards Power Station Road in Halfway where we joined the trail to the newly opened "Sheppey Light Railway Greenway". At the end of the trail we turned left, and took the next right to head to the main road following it round Merryman's Hill before heading along Sheerness Beach, past Tesco and back towards the starting point in New Road Sheerness.
27th September 2025 - Social Bike Ride
We had an amazing ride today starting from New Road Sheerness, up to Sheerness Beach then following the route towards The Shingle Bank where we crossed the main road (safely) and down towards Barton's Point where we stopped for a break. After our break, we headed along the canal, following the route towards Queensway and followed the route back towards the starting point In New Road Sheerness.
6th September 2025 - Social Bike Ride
We had an amazing ride today starting from New Road Sheerness, up to Sheerness Beach and past Tesco. We took the route through Blue Town and along towards Queenborough Beach stopping off near the "Old House At Home" for a little break. After our break, we cycled towards the railway bridge, crossing over into Queensway where we cycled alongside the canal. We then followed the roads towards St Georges Avenue where we followed the route around past The Fleet and back to the start in New Road Sheerness.
23rd August 2025 - Social Bike Ride
we had an amazing ride today starting from New Road Sheerness, Up to Sheerness Beach and past Tesco. We took the route through Blue Town and along towards Queenborough Beach stopping off near the "Old House At Home" for a little break. After our break, we cycled towards the railway Bridge, crossing over into Queensway where we cycled through The Fleet before heading back to the start in New Road Sheerness.
11th August 2025 - Sunset Seaside Cycle
Today we had a ride, raising money for Sheerness Town Team. Our ride started at The Leas Beach in Minster where we rode along the coast following the route towards Queenborough, stopping off near the "Old House At Home" before cycling back along the coast and back towards the starting point at The Leas Beach in Minster.
10th August 2025 - Picnic In The Park
Today we had an event in Pidgeon Park next to Masters House in Sheerness where we had the Mechanic and handing out some Cycling UK freebies along with allowing the public to sit down and have a picnic that they would bring themselves. We also had a kids ride and a couple of stalls.
2nd August 2025 - Social Bike Ride
Today we had an amazing ride from New Road Sheerness following the route backwards towards Queensway where we joined the canal path riding all the way towards Barton's Point and following the route up towards The Leas in Minster where we stopped off for a break. We then followed the route along the beach before heading back towards the starting point in New Road Sheerness.
5th July 2025 - Social Bike Ride
We had an amazing ride today riding from the starting point in New Road up towards the beach where we had a steady ride towards Barton's Point. We stopped off at Barton's Point to grab some snacks or a drink before heading along the canal and back round towards the starting point in New Road Sheerness.
21st June 2025 - Social Bike Ride
We had an amazing ride today with the hottest temperatures reaching 30°C following the route backwards towards Queensway and along the Canal towards Barton's Point. We then followed the beach towards McDonalds where we stopped and had some food before cycling round towards the starting point in New Road Sheerness.
7th June 2025 - Social Bike Ride
We had an amazing ride today heading through Blue-Town, along the beach and up towards Queenborough where we cycled through the Queenborough High Street, then up through the country path leading to Neats Court where we stopped off at Starbucks. On the way back we took the railway bridge towards Queensway and followed the road round down New Road and back to the start.
24th May 2025 - Social Bike Ride
We had an amazing ride today up towards the beach, and along to Barton's Point where we stopped off near the café and grabbed ourselves some snacks and drinks if we wanted. After a nice rest, we took a detour along a side path going on a grassy terrain going around Barton's Point leading us back round to the café. Finally we set off back down the path of the canal, round down the fleet and back to our starting location.
3rd May 2025 - Social Bike Ride
We had an amazing ride today with some new riders heading through Blue-Town, along the beach and up towards Queenborough where we stopped off just outside the "Old House At Home" pub for a bit of a break to catch our breath before following the route back over the railway bridge towards Queensway and back to our starting point going through The Fleet
25th April - St Georges Day Event
We had an amazing day at our stall at the St George's Day Event, ran by the Sheerness Town Council. We had our mechanic Fixing bikes throughout the day, fun games, a social bike ride around the event, leaflets and colouring pages. A massive thank you to everyone that came and said hello. A massive thank you to our mechanic "David" and "Edith" and a massive thank you to Jordan Gadsden and Luke Walker for helping with the stall.
12th April 2025 - Social Bike Ride
Today, an amazing ride with a smaller ride group than usual, but still a nice ride towards Minster Leas where we caught our breath before turning around and back towards Sheerness with a bright sunny day and the breeze going along the beach.

We had an amazing ride along the beach towards Barton's point. We stopped for a break before heading off through the canal all the way up towards Queensway where we followed the route round to New Road Sheerness and cycled to the starting point.

We had an amazing ride today with a small group of us. As most of the riders on todays ride were going for their Session Leader training, we decided to head to Edenbridge Drive in Sheerness and have a ride backwards and forwards around that area learning the different skills we would need for the 22nd January while also inspiring other riders into having a taster of what it was like to become a Session Leader
