July 2018: Our work on the development of A Nanometer Sized Analytical Platform for Delivering Nanoliter Volumes of Acetylcholine gets published!
-Congratulations to our undergraduate students, Andrew, Cristina, Josh, and our postdoctoral scholar, Ran! This is our 4th paper in 2018! Thank you all Shen group members for your hardworking!
June 2018: Our work on Synaptic Studying Cholinergic Neurotransmission on Living Neurons: Concentration and Dynamics gets published in JACs!
-We unveiled for the first time the diverse dynamics of chemical transmission via single synaptic measurements, composed of Singlets, Doublets, and Multiplets. Based on our findings, we proposed Simultaneous Multiple Vesicular Exocytosis mechanism for the observed doublets and multiplets during chemical transmission!

May 2018: Our Paper on nm Spatial Resolution Study of Somatic Exocytosis was accepted for publication in Chemical Science.
In this work we pioneered a new analytical strategy, the use of nanoITIES electrodes, for the study of somatic exocytosis with nm spatial resolution. We created an analytical platform to measure vesicle density at the cellular environment, while the cell is alive. Congratulations to Theresa, Kristen, and Michelle!

Feb 2018: Our work on Zwitterion Detection using Electroanalytical methods was published in Analytical Chemistry.
In this work, we pioneered a novel strategy based on pH modulation to enable the detection of a zwitterionic transmitter, GABA. Congratulations to our group members: Nick, Michelle, Daniel, Yuanyan and Ran! This is Nick’s 2nd paper in our group as an undergraduate student!
