Put treat in hand.

Pull hand up, sheltie will sit for the treat.

Give sheltie treat.

Practice trick more, until he has mastered it. Keep giving treats.

Teach when puppy is 8 to 12 weeks old.

Hold treat in hand.

Put hand on floor.

The sheltie will lie down to get it.

Keep practising.

Taught 9-20 weeks

Sit next to dog and hold a treat.

Move your hand from his nose toward his shoulder making him roll on his side.

Try this a few times and give treat each time he follows the treat and lies flat on his side with his head on the floor.

Make him roll to his back, then tummy again.

Keep practising!

Say 'sit'

Hold your hand out

Take her paw

Shake it

Say shake or paw at the same time as shaking

Reward your dog!

Eventually when you put your hand out, your dog will put her paw in your hand.
