As a classroom teacher, I experience every day the challenges that are driving educators from the classroom - from lack of support for our early career educator, to failings from inconsistent leadership in our schools, and the ever-present injustices of underfunded IDEA. I am running for president because the work our union does can be and must be the solution.
Together, we can make OUR union work for US!
Being a life-long member of our community and a product of JCPS, I’ve witnessed how inequitable education has impacted our community over decades. I continue to fight for racial and social justice in our schools, our profession, our legislature, and my hometown.
I am a passionate advocate and an experienced negotiator, having served nine years as a public defender. My business education and experience provide me with the strategic background to make fiscally responsible decisions that will most benefit our members.
I lead through service in JCTA, having served as a Board Member, Professional Representative, delegate to state and national conferences, and chairing the Social Affairs Committee. I have served as vice-Chair to the Human Civil Rights Committee since 2020.
Through volunteering, participating in community actions, and lobbying in Frankfort, I have built relationships with local, state and federal representatives as well as community leaders. I will be a strong voice for all members and advocate for real solutions to our collective struggles.
