Hello! My name is Ana Santos, and I wish to inform a broader audience about women's impacts on STEM. Throughout my academic career, I found myself only educated on male scientists, mathematicians, engineers, and technologists - so I decided I needed to change that. Just like me, there are many scholars across the world who have very little knowledge on what we women accomplished, so I created this website in the hopes of educating not only myself, but also others.
I am personally fascinated with biochemistry, and that is the major I wish to pursue — I've been captivated by science ever since I was little. However, I found out that I wanted to study biochemistry when I was in my sophomore year of high school: there I was, solving a mock murder mystery while having the opportunity to utilize laboratory equipment, such as microscopes and micropipettes. Although for many it just seemed like another tiring lab activity, for me it was life-changing, since that was when I realized I wanted to work in a real, research-driven laboratory.
