The Amateur Athletic Union is nation-wide, but we participate through Iowa AAU. The Sheldon Volleyball Club offers the opportunity to play in AAU tournaments, as well as work with experienced coaches through practice and tournaments. AAU volleyball gives athletes the opportunity to learn and practice fundamental skills, gain volleyball knowledge, have fun, and be a part of a team.

The amount paid at the beginning of the season varies from year to year depending on number of tournaments and number of girls. Your payment covers:
Jersey
At least 3 scheduled tournaments
10 scheduled practices
You can message your coach through the Remind App, or via email, once you know who your coach is.
Tournaments are scheduled in mid-December. After that, we sit down and arrange practice schedules for each grade. You can expect a schedule by January.
You are responsible for transporting your daughter to each tournament (and practice) or finding someone for her to ride with
Each tournament allows us to play at least 4 games. Some are morning tournaments, some are afternoon tournaments, and some are both. We do not find this out until the week of the tournament.
All tournament work is volunteer. When our team is scheduled to work, we need adults to be an up ref and a down ref. We also need girls to line judge, and adults and girls to keep score. Be responsible!! Do not leave this job to the same parents each time. Take your turn.
NEW: 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teams need to qualify TWICE in order to participate in the GOLD (State) tournament at the end of March.
