A referendum has closed about if Sheepland's sheep design used in government symbols should be changed to a new design.  View Sheepland's old flag and current flag.  The referendum was set to close on the 31st of July.  However, as a majority of Sheepland's population voted for the referendum, no other option could be reached, and it closed early.  In order to include the new sheep design, Sheepland's coat of arms will be changed as well.  There will be a referendum in the future to determine the new design of Sheepland's coat of arms.

This document, written by the president, puts forward a clear path for the production of Sheeplandic Pound banknotes and coins, as well as a better-written version of the 1st currency reform.  In summary, it:

• Lays out the value of the Sheeplandic Pound

• Shows a requirement for the amount of gold reserves held by the Sheeplandic Central bank for the purpose of backing the value of the Sheeplandic Pound

• Establishes a standard for the minting of coins with precious metals

• Creates an exception to the gold reserves rule if coins minted with precious metals meet the aforementioned standards

• Nullifies the 1st currency reform

The Sheeplandic Central Bank has revealed the designs for the 2025 Sheeplandic pound series!   The 2025 Series of Sheeplandic Banknotes saw another increase in security features as well as improvements to the design of all banknotes.  The only major design changes are to the reverse of the SP5 note and the entirety of the SP10 note. A map of Sheepland's probable future location was added in the background of the reverse of the 2025 SP5 note. The design of the SP10 note was completely overhauled, with the reverse changing from a crude depiction of non-existent mountains to a realistic depiction of Sheepland's future capital city, Shepton. A Black-legged Kittiwake, the national bird of Sheepland, is seen flying in the upper right corner of the banknote. This same scene is also seen faintly in the obverse of the banknote. It is also the first series to be printed. However, currently (as of January 2025) all printings are experimental specimens to determine the best way of printing the note, and none are legal tender. 

Sheepland has changed its flag on the 27th.  There is a transitionary period from 27 June to 10 July, when the new and old flags will be official with the purpose of gradually switching to the new flag.

Sheepland has transitioned from a one party system to a no-party system.  The Socialist Party of Sheepland, previously the only ruling party, was abolished.  Eco-Socialism is now constitutionally guaranteed instead of having a party to enforce it.

The increasing tensions between Sheepland and one of its allies, the United Kingdom of Santa Fe and New Croatia, or UKSFNC was all just a misunderstanding.  The UKSFNC was formally centrist but become libertarian overnight, changing its flag to include the "Don’t Tread on Me" Gasden Rattlesnake.  Sheepland has a law against allying with right-wing micronations, so it was a bit startled by this. It turned out, the UKSFNC had actually become libertarian-centrist, not a right-wing libertarian as the "Don’t Tread on Me" flag seemed to suggest.  Relations were repaired.
