Find The One

Find The One is a 2D narrative game that operates as a dating app simulator. You will play as Eden, a 21-year-old femme college student trying to meet someone new through Finder, a popular dating app. Will Eden find the one during their search?

This game will not act like your normal dating simulator - try as you might, Eden will end up alone. What seems like a simple game of romance can quickly turn into one of awkwardness, discomfort, disgust, or even terror. 

This game is derived from the first game I ever made, Media As A Femme. I wanted to continue on this project so I could continue to critique different aspects of social media. For now, I've decided to focus solely on dating apps, because it was something I hadn't used until college, and there's a lot I have to say about them. As I continue to develop this game, I hope to achieve the following:

• Spread awareness of the dangers women/femmes face while online dating and the misogyny that is continually growing in online spheres

• Expose and critique the ways in which we objectify our bodies and looks in order to sell ourselves on these apps

• Critique Tinder (and other dating apps) for their paywalling of safety features and capitalizing on loneliness and desperation
