My name is Xiang (Shawn) WAN. I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems & Analytics at the Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University (SCU) in Silicon Valley.  My research interests lie primarily in three areas: algorithmic product recommendation systems, FinTech, AI & blockchain, and the digital economy. I use machine learning & AI, digital experimentation (including field experiments, quasi-experiments, and laboratory experiments), applied econometrics, and analytical modeling in my research. 

My work has been accepted for publication in Management Science and Information Systems Research. I am the recipient of the ACM SIGMIS Doctoral Dissertation Award (first runner-up) at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS 2022) and the Best Dissertation Award (runner-up) at the Workshop on Information Technologies and Systems (WITS 2021).
