My name is Xiang (Shawn) WAN. I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems & Analytics at the Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University (SCU) in Silicon Valley. I am passionate about understanding how emerging technologies, particularly AI and blockchain, are redefining traditional paradigms in marketing, finance, operations, and competitive strategy. Specifically, my research interests lie in three interconnected areas: Human-Algorithm Interactions, AI & Digital Economy, and FinTech & Blockchain.
My work has been published in Management Science and Information Systems Research. I am the recipient of the ACM SIGMIS Doctoral Dissertation Award (first runner-up) at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS 2022) and the Best Dissertation Award (runner-up) at the Workshop on Information Technologies and Systems (WITS 2021).
