Shawn X. Quan, PhD
Shawn Quan is an assistant professor at the University of New Mexico's Anderson School of Management. Her research explores marginalized employees' experiences and work-nonwork interface. Specifically, she explores how Indigenous employees and employees from lower social class origins thrive in organizations, and examines the work impact of nonwork factors such as pets and seasonality. She adopts a range of methods to study these topics, including experiments, field studies, interviews, and ethnographies.
When not doing research, Shawn is a climber, mountaineer, thru-hiker, and dog parent. She volunteers as a guide-runner for visually impaired athletes, and enjoys taking those of underprivilaged backgrounds outdoors.
