Shawnee Water Plan by Shawnee Civic Association 10-30-2019
Goals:
To provide Augmentation water and a public water source for those who need it and have access to our river basin.
To create a source of income for Shawnee Water Consumer’s Association and Shawnee Civic Association.
To fully utilize our water resources for the benefit of the public and provide public education about water resources.
To protect the Shawnee Watershed.
What will happen:
SCA's Shawnee Water Plan is a micro-collection concept that develops saleable Augmentation water and a public water source on a small scale. We will utilize a new augmentation plan featuring water partner rights and deliver it through a 2200 foot pipeline to the Shawnee Water Supply Reservoir, store it appropriately, then run it down a metered 2800 foot pipeline with 700 feet of head into the North Fork of the South Platte river. The Shawnee Civic Association non - profit corporation will administer the water right and lease from Shawnee Water Consumers Association time in the pipeline and space in the reservoir...........

SHAWNEE NATURE, HISTORY AND SCIENCE CENTER
SNHSC – A Place for study, experiments, observation, archives, and exhibits. A program venue.
There would be controlled public access. Controlled by small group guided tours and supervised projects. Controlled because of it is the watershed for Shawnee. Controlled to protect its sensitive environment and various ongoing experiments and projects.
Presence with a purpose. A venue for classroom students to explore nature. Show Nature to underserved low income children and adults. Land use that is soft on nature and that protects natural development. Study the use of the natural environment by men and women that cultivates understanding and relationships with nature. Study use that respects natural wildlife, plants, sound, air and water. Slight impact events, observations, projects and studies by research professionals would be welcome.
