The Shark River Hills Community Garden seeks to provide infrastructure, resources and education to garden members of all ages involved in the growing and harvesting of nutritious organic produce in a community setting that fosters teamwork, learning, responsibility, camaraderie and sharing.
Beds are $40 for a seasonal rental (May - November). All beds have been rented for the 2019 Season. Please check the "Next Door" app, information will be posted in early Spring of 2020.
SHARK RIVER HILLS COMMUNITY GARDEN PROVIDES:
An individual plot intended to grow produce to be harvested for the plot gardener. Plots are assigned annually on a first-come, first-served basis. If no plots are available, the Garden Committee will keep a waiting list and will notify interested parties as space becomes available.
Common plots intended to grow produce to be harvested for donation.
Water spigots and hoses at the garden.
Protective fencing around the Community Garden.
Compost bins and/or areas for disposal of garden waste.
General soil preparation, garden layout and coordination prior to and throughout the garden season.
Access to a Master Gardener for questions and suggestions during the garden season
Communication updates as needed via email and posting on the bulletin board/mailbox in the Community Garden.
