Hunter Valley History
The first sighting of the Hunter River by European settlers was in 1797, when it was discovered by chance by Lieutenant John Shortland during a search for escaped convicts. The Hunter Valley’s initial value was as a source of timber and coal for the steamships that provided much of the transport for Sydney and its surroundings.
It is a well known area because it's Australia's oldest and best-known wine region. It has over 150 wineries. It is known all over the World because it has award winning wines. It has been producing wines since the 1800's.

Balloon Aloft was the winner of the Australian Tourism Award 2006 and 2007. Balloon Aloft has been offering quality balloon rides over the Hunter Valley. They have been doing it for more than 27 years. On the balloon ride you will see beautiful hills, grape vines.

The Hunter valley Gardens is located in the heart of the Hunter vineyards at the bottom of the Broken Back Ranges. The Hunter Valley spans over 60 acres. You would be amazed by the sensational sights, beautiful colours and fragrances.
There are plenty of activities, especially for children. There is horse riding too. You can ride the beautiful Molly Morgan Range on a horse. And, you can see the spectacular view of the Hunter Valley Wine Country.
