PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: 31 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the ShareDrop mobile application ("ShareDrop",
"the app", "we", "us") handles information.
This application is developed and maintained by "MD Developer Studio", which
serves as the official merchant for this application and is legally owned by
"MITUL VINUBHAI DONDA".
By installing or using ShareDrop you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do
not agree, please do not use the app.
1. THE SHORT VERSION
ShareDrop does not have user accounts, does not ask you to sign in, and does
not upload your files anywhere. Your photos, videos, documents and contacts are
sent directly from your phone to the other device you choose, over your own
Wi-Fi network or a hotspot created by your phone. We never receive them, never
store them, and never see them.
The only information that leaves your device is what Google's advertising
service collects in order to show ads, described in section 5.
2. FILES YOU SHARE
When you send files, ShareDrop starts a small web server inside the app on your
own device. The receiving device connects to that server directly over the
local network and downloads the files. Nothing passes through the internet and
nothing passes through any server operated by us or by any third party.
Three things limit what the other device can reach:
- Only the items you specifically select are made available. Nothing else on
your phone can be requested, even by someone who knows the address.
- Each session uses a single-use access token embedded in the QR code. A
device without that token is refused.
- New devices must be approved by you before they can download anything.
When you receive files, they are written to the Download/ShareDrop folder on
your phone. You choose whether to copy them into your gallery.
When a session ends, the server stops and the access token is discarded.
3. INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
The following is saved in the app's private storage on your phone. It is not
transmitted anywhere and it is not readable by other apps.
- Your chosen display language.
- The fact that you accepted this Privacy Policy and the Terms & Conditions.
- A transfer history: for each completed transfer, the file name, file size,
whether it was sent or received, the local network address of the other
device, and the date and time. File contents are never stored in history.
You can erase the transfer history at any time from the app menu. Uninstalling
the app removes all of the above.
4. PERMISSIONS AND WHY THEY ARE NEEDED
Photos and media (or Storage on older Android versions)
Required. Without it the app has nothing to share. Used to list your
photos, videos and audio so you can choose what to send, and to save
incoming files.
All files access (optional)
Only if you grant it. Lets you browse and send documents and installer
files. The app works without it, with those categories unavailable.
Contacts (optional)
Only if you choose to share contacts. Used to build a standard vCard file
that is sent directly to the other device. Contacts are never uploaded and
never stored by us.
Location / Nearby Wi-Fi devices
Required by Android itself to create or read details of the local hotspot
used when the two devices are not on the same Wi-Fi network. ShareDrop
does not collect, store, or transmit your geographic location.
Notifications
To show the ongoing transfer notification so Android keeps the transfer
running while the screen is off.
Internet and network state
Used for the local connection between the two devices, to check Google
Play for app updates, and to load ads.
5. ADVERTISING
ShareDrop displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob. Google is an
independent controller of the data it collects for this purpose.
To serve and measure ads, Google and its advertising partners may collect and
process your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device and operating
system details, and information about ad interactions. This may be used to show
personalised advertising.
We do not send Google your files, your file names, your contacts, or your
transfer history. We receive only aggregated, non-identifying reports about ad
performance.

You can limit personalised advertising, or reset or delete your advertising ID,
in your device settings under Settings > Privacy > Ads.
6. ANALYTICS
ShareDrop does not include any analytics or crash-reporting service. We do not
track how you use the app.
7. CHILDREN
ShareDrop is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not
knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child
has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will act
on it.
8. YOUR CHOICES
- Clear your transfer history from the app menu at any time.
- Withdraw any optional permission in Android's app settings.
- Reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings.
- Uninstall the app, which removes everything it has stored.
Because we hold no personal data about you on any server, there is nothing for
us to export or delete on your behalf.
9. SECURITY
Transfers stay on your local network and are limited by the session token and
your device approval, as described in section 2. No system is perfectly secure,
so we recommend sharing only on networks you trust and approving only devices
you recognise.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy. The revised version will be posted on this
page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be brought to your
attention in the app.
