ShareDrop Privacy Policy
ShareDrop Privacy Policy
Effective date: 23 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Nextpixel Apps (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use ShareDrop (“the app”) on iPhone and iPad. ShareDrop is designed to work on your device. Your files are never uploaded to our servers.
1. The short version
Files you share go directly to the device you choose. They are never sent to us.
We do not have accounts, logins, or ask for your name, email or phone number to use the app.
ShareDrop does not include analytics or crash-reporting tools.
We only receive limited, anonymous purchase information so we can unlock Premium, plus an Apple Ads attribution token if you installed the app from one of our ads.
We do not sell your data, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
2. Your files and transfers
Nearby sharing (Wi‑Fi): when you send or receive files, ShareDrop runs a small local web server on your device. Files travel directly over your local Wi‑Fi network, or your Personal Hotspot, to the device you connect with. They never pass through our servers.
PIN protection: each session is protected by a 4‑digit PIN and a random link. After repeated wrong PIN attempts, entry is temporarily locked. Transfers on your local network use standard HTTP and are not end‑to‑end encrypted. Only share on networks you trust.
AirDrop and the share sheet: when you choose AirDrop or another app, the files are handed to Apple’s system share sheet and handled by that service.
Transfer history: a list of sent and received files, and the names of up to 3 recently connected devices, are stored only on your device. You can delete them in the app at any time.
Compression: photo and video compression happens on your device. By default, location data (GPS) is removed from compressed photos and videos. Original files you send without compression keep their original information.
3. Document scanning and Apple Intelligence
The camera is used only to scan documents with Apple’s built‑in document scanner.
Text recognition (OCR) runs on your device.
On supported devices, smart names and summaries for scans are created with Apple Intelligence, which runs on your device. Scans and their text are not sent to us or to any third‑party AI service.
4. Permissions we ask for
Camera: to scan documents.
Add to Photos: to save photos and videos you receive. We cannot read your photo library; when you pick photos to send, Apple’s photo picker gives the app only the items you select.
Local network: to find and connect to nearby devices on the same Wi‑Fi.
You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
5. Purchases
Payments are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see your payment card details.
We use RevenueCat to confirm and restore Premium. RevenueCat receives your App Store purchase and subscription history and an anonymous app user ID. This is not linked to your name or email.
6. Apple Ads attribution
If you installed ShareDrop from one of our Apple Ads campaigns, an Apple Ads attribution token is shared through RevenueCat. It tells us which campaign led to the install. This uses Apple’s AdServices framework. It does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across apps or websites.
7. No analytics or tracking
ShareDrop does not include analytics or crash‑reporting tools. We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), and the app does not ask for permission to track you.
8. Contacting support
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and any information you include, for example the app version. We use this only to reply to you.
9. How long we keep information
Files, transfer history and device names stay on your device until you delete them or delete the app.
Purchase data is kept by RevenueCat only as long as needed to provide and restore your Premium access.
Support emails are kept as long as needed to help you.
10. Sharing of information
We do not sell or rent your information.
We share data only with the service providers described above, who process it on our behalf.
We may disclose information if required by law.
11. Your choices and rights
You can turn off camera, Photos and local network access in iOS Settings.
Deleting ShareDrop removes all app data stored on your device.
Depending on where you live, for example the EU, UK, India or California, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to object to its processing. To make a request, email us. Because the data we receive is not linked to your identity, we may not be able to match it to you.
12. Children
ShareDrop is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. They are required to protect it in line with this policy and applicable law.
14. Third‑party privacy policies
