Government

The council of founders holds the institutional authority of Shardiland as the founders are the heads of state. The council is presided by a Chairperson (Marco Sanz), who holds the possition for life, the chairperson presides over the meetings and is the second highest authorirty of the republic. The highest authority is the Head Founder which alternates around the four founders, one for each season. The Head Founder is the head of state and has two votes in the council.

The Provisional Government has the executive power, it is however subordinate to the Council of Founders, it is led by a prime minister elected by the Assembly of the Shards. The Government also contains the Lord/Lady high chancellor (foreign minister) or the Chancellor of the Exequer. There has been two prime ministers in the history of Shardiland: Lewis Left (2023-2025) and Valerie Wood (2025-Present)

The Parliament is the legislative branch of the Shardilandi Government, it is responsible for electing the prime minister and passing laws, it is divided into two chambers: The Assembly of the Shards (Chosen by the People) and the Cortags (Chosen by academics from the National Institute)

The supreme court is responsible for administering justice throughout the national territory. It is formed by the General Judiciary Council which is formed by the founders and parliament, the Supreme Court has a Chairperson with the power to untie any jury decission.

The Honourable Internal Council is an independent body whose purpose is to ensure that government officials mantain integrity and still serve the people, to do so it has some very unique powers detailed in the Constitution of Shardiland. In the HICS every party has equal representation regardless of their representation in parliament. 

The National institute is what makes Shardiland slightly technocratic, it is elected only by academic merit through a very difficult entry exam and its general council is responsible for forming the Cortags as well as forming plans to improve Shardiland.
