I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Economics at the University of Strathclyde in Scotland. My work aims to use data to support policymaking and advance social justice. I work across three interrelated areas, using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. My work has featured in policy-oriented outlets including the IMF Economic Review and Regional Studies (Policy Debates section).
One strand of work involves using (Bayesian) macroeconometric techniques to shed light on issues in international macroeconomics, international finance and central banking. I am particularly interested in econometrically modelling the Global South.
A second strand focuses on decolonising quantitative methodologies and the analysis of economic data. I am affiliated with D-Econ and am a member of the FemQuant network.
The third strand relates to economic measurement and statistics. I am affiliated with the Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence, funded by the UK's Office for National Statistics, and the Fraser of Allander Institute. My research contributed to the development of the UK's interregional trade statistics and a comparability framework tool designed to support UK-wide data comparability.
I actively collaborate with partners in policy and across disciplines. This has included work with the European Central Bank, the Office for National Statistics, and the Northern Ireland Office.
