I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Economics at the University of Strathclyde in Scotland. The overarching goal of my work is to use data to support policymaking and advance social justice. I have three broad sets of interrelated interests and use both quantitative and qualitative methodologies in my research.
One strand of work involves using (Bayesian) macroeconometric techniques to shed light on issues in international macroeconomics, international finance and central banking. I am particularly interested in econometrically modelling developing and emerging economies.
A second strand of work considers how we can decolonise quantitative methodologies and the analysis of economic data. I am affiliated with D-Econ and regularly attend events run by the FemQuant network.
A third strand of work relates to economic measurement and statistics with a focus on subnational and regional data. I am affiliated with the Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence, funded by the UK's Office for National Statistics, as well as the Fraser of Allander Institute.
I am happy to work with partners in policy and other disciplines and have, for example, previously collaborated with the European Central Bank, Office for National Statistics and Northern Ireland Office.
