My teaching philosophy is shaped by my academic journey through China, the United States, and Singapore, giving me a deep appreciation for the diversity of student experiences and perspectives. I believe effective management education is both intellectually rigorous and personally transformative. The classroom should be an incubator where students reflect on their core values, challenge their assumptions, and develop the ability to appreciate diverse viewpoints.
I take a student-centered approach built on three principles:
Psychological safety – Students learn best when they feel comfortable expressing ideas without fear of judgment. I aim to foster respectful dialogue and inclusive participation.
Critical reflection – I encourage students to question their assumptions and explore the complexity of ethical and managerial dilemmas.
Cross-cultural awareness – I integrate global perspectives into discussions, highlighting how leadership, ethics, and decision-making vary across contexts.

"Prof is very bubbly and keeps the course fun with in class discussions and exercises. also takes time to reiterate important concepts if it seems like we don't understand it clearly. Overall a class i look forward to each week."
"The professor is engaging, highly knowledgeable and very passionate about ethics. He also understands students well and creates a supportive learning environment."
"Prof is the most dedicated and best prof I have ever met!! The weekly email summaries, and frequent surveys where we can freely feedback what we don't understand or want to see improvements on, are always well-received by prof and acted on. I find that the weekly summariesand clear links to what we are learning and why we are learning these concepts, has truly helped me to solidify my learning. Prof is always clear in class and I appreciate that he stops to check on us from time to time. Prof also clearly highlights the importance of ethics, and we can tell he's very passionate and concerned on ensuring we take the chance in uni to really learn and explore how to be ethical and be prepared for the real world. Thanks prof for always going above and beyond! I didn't like ethics at first but now I do!!".
