Media literacy is an expanded conceptualization of literacy that includes the ability to access and analyse media messages as well as create, reflect and take action, using the power of information and communication to make a difference in the world. Media literacy is not restricted to one medium and is understood as a set of competencies that are essential for work, life, and citizenship.Due to the presence of media and vast amount of information in the 21st century, it is necessary to acquire specific skills considered as media literacy. Media literacy considers ability to access media and media content, to analyse media content and to communicate in a variety of contexts.Teachers should intergrete critical media analysis in teaching in the 21st century ICT class.
