My name is Shalyn Whittemore, and I am currently a freshman at The University of Pittsburgh. Throughout high school I was an honors student with a 4.0 GPA and worked hard to maintain that accelerated pathway. I was involved in various clubs and activities such as National Honor Society, Leadership Council, High School Varsity Softball, and I was also a student ambassador for the Venango County Department of Veterans Affairs. I currently am a UPMC Scholar, a member of the Nursing Student Association, and a member of Chi Alpha (a christian group at Pitt). Upon graduation from The University of Pittsburgh, I plan to gain experience at a UPMC facility as a registered nurse before returning to school to eventually become a Nurse Practitioner. I one day hope to work in a setting that specifically assists veterans, as I dedicated a magnitude of my time to this community throughout high school and continue to do so!
