The Deakin Men's Badminton team won the Division 1 Bronze Medal at the 2023 UniNational Games in Australia. This is the first time that Deakin won a Division 1 medal in Badminton in it's history. As the Team Manager, it was dream from the begining when I started started trailing players, conducting training sessions, and finally managing the players during the games.
Its should also be noted that this year was the first that a Women's team represented Deakin University in badminton and ended up 7th place in Division 1.
Our team SafePath Innovators representing Deakin University *WON* 🏆 the SCATS Student Data Innovation Challenge - a premier Research Competition, held across two days at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) premises in Sydney, Australia. Our team produced a highly scalable adaptive traffic signalling solution, aimed at improving the efficiency and safety across the global traffic network. It was also an exciting opportunity to collaborate with Transport for NSW, iMOVE Australia, and SCATS to contribute positively to the transportation systems using advanced Internet-of-Things (IoT), machine learning, and distributed computing techniques.
Selected as the runner-up for Best Research presentation at the 2023 Annual HDR Conference of School of Information Technology, Deakin University (Novemeber 2023). As a result, I was able to present my work at the Industry Forum as well.
Selected among the Top 4 at the 3-Minute Thesis Competiton in 2022 at School of Information Technology, Deakin University. I was the only first year PhD candidate who was selected among the Top-4 with rest being final year candidates.
Received the best research paper award for paper titled "Event Driven Share Price Forecasting based on Change based Impact Analysis" authored by my self, Chathurya Bombuwela, Ravindi Kumaranayaka, Kaushika Kahatapitiya, Dr. Upeksha Ganegoda, and Dr. Isuru Manawadu at the 7th International Conference on Information Technology Research (ICITR) 2022.
Scholarship offered by the Australian Resrach Council for the completion of the PhD research work investigating techniques for Adaptive Context Caching.
University Relations of 99X Technology initiative was awarded again for the 3rd consecutive year in 2020 the Best Initiative of which I contributed as an Initiative Lead.

The award is presented to the most outstanding all-round student who have best performed in both academic and extra-curricular activities amongst all the graduates from the Faculty of Information at the General Convocation 2019.
I was placed the top of the class (Batch 14) for the Bachelors (Honours) in Information Technology based on the overall academic performance during semester examinations from 2014-2019. This marks a significant milestone in my academic career as it could been as the penultimate reward for the the planning and hard work been put to achieve a goal this was thought to achieveable when I first stepped in to the university.

Organizing Committee of Lead CS 3.0 was awarded the Most Outstanding Organizing Committee of AIESEC Colombo South (University of Moratuwa) at the Awards Night 2017. It was in fact, very deserving considering the amount of hard work been put in to successfully conclude a 3 day residential conference with around 150+ participants. The conference introduced many and innovative features including a Mobile application and the 'Go Green' based conference theme in order to deliver a truly life changing experience for the participants.
HACKiNTRA is a 12 hour overnight Hackathon organized by the Jaffna Univeristy of Sri Lanka, where team CodeX competed. We received the 1st runner up position among the Top 10 Finalists at the competition where we implemented iCare - a wearable health monitoring, detection and remote response system. The system with the wearable unit and is based on the concept of "Internet of Things" (IoT).
The innovative concept of Real Time monitoring, analyzing and prompt response system for the highway through a device and capturing, storing and providing the analysis capability for those data was provided by the System we implemented.
